The Department of Biomedical Informatics Industry Advisory Board (IAB) at the University of Utah hosted another great event on Thursday, October 20, 2022. We were excited to host this in person once again and it was good to network and connect with people in the industry we haven’t seen for several years. This continues to be a successful event, with students attending from across the state and many students with biomedical informatics and computer science backgrounds. This event also draws many professionals in industry and government who look forward to networking with others in the biomedical informatics field. We kicked off the evening with two DBMI PhD students who presented the research they are doing. The evening’s keynote speaker was Stan Huff, MD, FACMI. He is the Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Graphite Health. His topic for the evening was “Graphite’s Pursuit of Semantic Interoperability”. Given the amount of questions and interest everyone had, his topic is very relevant right now. We look forward to our next IABtalks in April 2023. Hope to see you all there!
