    PhD Program

    Our PhD program provides intensive coursework and research training in biomedical informatics. The primary goal of the program is to train students to be independent researchers when they graduate; many of our PhD graduates go on to academic careers.

    The non-thesis option of the Master of Science degree is designed for working professionals in mind who want to tackle the new healthcare challenges related to biomedical informatics and health information technology.

  • Training Grants

    Training Grants

    The University of Utah/Department of Biomedical Informatics is proud to be a recipient of a T15 National Library of Medicine Training Grant and an Interdisciplinary T32 Training Program in Computational Approaches to Diabetes and Metabolism Research. It provides a stipend, tuition coverage and health insurance for all the trainees. These grants fund research training for postdoctoral and predoctoral positions limited to US citizens or green cardholders.
